Triathlon World Tour 2027 reveals the first wave of dates

In 2027, the Triathlon World Tour will launch under the joint drive of the PTO (Professional Triathletes Organization), World Triathlon (the international federation) and the Challenge circuit (a private series acquired by the PTO in early 2026).

The shared ambition of the PTO and World Triathlon is to deliver a clear, unified competition structure for triathlon by bringing together the current T100 Triathlon World Tour and the World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS), which will be renamed respectively the T100 World Championship Tour and the T50 World Championship Tour, forming the top tier of pro racing within the new Triathlon World Tour. Each will culminate in World Championship Finals, where the official world champions will be crowned over both distances.

Within this new framework, the Triathlon World Tour will also include a tier called “Challenger”, offering a single, unified qualification pathway into the World Championship Tours and serving as a true stepping stone to the top level. This category will incorporate the former World Triathlon Cups as well as a selection of Challenge Family races. One notable exception: the iconic Challenge Roth will not be part of this circuit.

The aim is for every Triathlon World Tour event to benefit from expanded TV coverage, host a top-level pro field, and also offer races open to amateur triathletes.

On 24 July, World Triathlon President Antonio Arimany and PTO CEO Sam Renouf, joined by triathletes Matt Hauser and Taylor Knibb, presented the first part of the 2027 calendar:
