France's Pierre Dupuy has taken his third win of the month at Challenge Forte Village Sardinia. In the women's race, Britain's Nikki Bartlett came out on top after a tight battle with Germany's Daniela Kleiser.

Regarded as one of the most scenic courses on the Challenge Family circuit, the Challenge Forte Village Sardinia route featured a 1.9 km swim with a wave start, a 90 km bike through the Sardinian villages of Santa Margherita di Pula, Domus de Maria, Teulada and Sant'Anna Arresi, then a 21 km run along the coast to Cala d'Ostia beach. The finish was judged on the new piazza at Forte Village.

In the men's race, France's Pierre Dupuy led from start to finish to take the win. It follows his victories at the Gérardmer XL triathlon and the Challenge Vieux Boucau.

Dupuy came out of the water in 22:31, a minute ahead of a chase group of sixteen athletes. Over the first 45 km of the bike, Germany's Ruben Zepunkte tried to bridge across to the Frenchman, but Dupuy proved particularly strong. He came off the bike in 2:03:31 with a four-minute lead.

On the run he kept a two-minute cushion to win in 3:37:56. Belgium's Joran Driesen took second in 3:39:47, ahead of Germany's Tom Hug, who finished third in 3:40:14 after a strong run.

"I'm very happy with my race," said Pierre Dupuy. "I gave everything on the bike, then ran a controlled first lap before going all out to the finish line."
