Lacanau Triathlon

At the beginning of spring, Lacanau takes a brief break from surfing to host one of the season’s major triathlon events in the Southwest. The event takes place on the shores of the lake, at the Moutchic site, with a cycling course passing through the resort and along the roads of Médoc Atlantique.
With little elevation gain and fast roads, it is a popular setting for triathletes looking to start their season with strong times, while beginners enjoy a welcoming and accessible environment. Two formats, one shorter and one longer, along with events for younger participants, bring together more than a thousand athletes over a weekend in a relaxed atmosphere amid the pine trees.
