Because triathlon is supposedly “three times more expensive” than a single-discipline sport, we’ve rounded up several bike models (*) at “affordable” prices. They’re ideal if you’re working with a limited budget or just getting started in this fantastic sport…

(*) Several iconic triathlon brands told us they had no bikes available in the required price range (a maximum of €2,500 +/- 10%), or that their stocks were too limited to “push” these models…

BMC - Teammachine SLR TWO

This bike is built around the Swiss brand’s ultra-light Advanced carbon frame, the heart of a race machine designed to defy gravity and excel on every gradient. After more than a decade of development, this latest generation of the Teammachine SLR continues to push the limits of the stiffness-to-weight ratio while preserving the handling, road holding and distinctive BMC ride feel.

As an entry point to the high-end range, this bike features BMC’s full suite of technologies: the comfort delivered by TCC Race, the Aero seatpost with its D-shaped profile, and BMC’s unmistakable ride feel, explosive when you put the power down, precise through corners and remarkably comfortable when the road deteriorates.

The RSM01 stem, paired with BMC’s aluminium handlebar, provides integrated cable routing and makes position adjustments easier. PRD23 wheels with cartridge-bearing hubs complete the build.

CANNONDALE CAAD14-3

The new generation of Cannondale’s iconic aluminium platform. The direct heir to a lineage launched in 1983, the CAAD14 marks a deliberate return to the fundamentals that built the brand’s reputation: unrivalled aluminium expertise, a design focused on pure performance and a character all its own on the road.

At a time when carbon frames dominate the market, Cannondale is reaffirming its belief that expertly engineered aluminium delivers unmatched liveliness, explosiveness and energy. The CAAD14 is not an alternative to carbon; it is the most accomplished expression of what aluminium can offer.

With its substantial tubes, smooth welds, clean lines and resolutely aggressive position, the CAAD14 reconnects with the range’s historic DNA: stiffness, precision, handling and raw sensations. Built to attack, sprint, climb and descend with confidence, it is aimed at cyclists looking for a lively, responsive and authentic bike. Durable, modern and timeless, it is designed to accompany riders year after year, whether for training, racing or pure enjoyment. It accommodates tyres up to 32 mm, with 4 mm of clearance for improved grip, greater comfort and optimal control on every road surface.

ORBEA Orca M30

Orbea’s Basque road bike is primarily a machine built for the mountains. Its carbon frame and fork, however, feature aerodynamic shaping that makes it fast across all types of terrain.

With a 2026 OMR carbon frame (Orbea Monocoque Race), this model strikes an excellent balance between stiffness and low weight, with a total weight of around 8.1 kg. Ideal for steep climbs, rolling routes and long rides, it performs across the board thanks to its aerodynamic design and confident handling.

This road bike comes with disc brakes and a reliable, precise Shimano 105 2x12-speed groupset. Semi-integrated cable routing, a carbon seatpost and 28 mm tyres add the finishing touches and improve comfort. A fast, capable bike ready to rack up the miles in comfort and at speed. TREK Domane AL 4

An aluminium road bike combining performance, versatility and long-distance comfort, with a lightweight frame design whose qualities go far beyond what its price tag might suggest.

Trek’s best-selling Domane AL offers improved versatility and comfort, increased tyre clearance suitable for both asphalt and gravel, a clean, modern look, and features usually found on higher-end models. All in a lighter package.

The new measured tyre clearance of 38 mm lets you venture comfortably onto asphalt, back roads and most gravel tracks. Thanks to its revised 100 Series aluminium frame and new carbon fork, the new Domane AL is around 250 grams lighter than the previous disc Domane AL. The new cockpit features an updated road handlebar for improved ergonomics and control, with a shorter reach and 4 mm of flare between the hoods and the drops. Internal cable routing, meanwhile, delivers a refined level of integration generally reserved for higher-end models.

For the first time, the Domane AL comes with a new thru-axle compatible with the Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH). The UDH is the derailleur hanger used on Trek mountain bikes, allowing cyclists to benefit from cross-category compatibility across their different uses.

The Domane’s endurance geometry puts you in a more upright position for greater comfort during long days in the saddle.
