All the VentouxMan 2026 results: Gouault and Restler tame the Giant of Provence

With nearly 1,400 athletes lining up across the weekend’s events, the 11th edition of the VentouxMan lived up to expectations in perfect weather. On the L-distance triathlon, Beaune Triathlon’s Pierre Gouault took the men’s title, while Germany’s Eva Restler topped the women’s race. Here’s a look back at the results from a weekend around the Giant of Provence.

A unique sporting challenge around Mont Ventoux, the legendary summit of French cycling, the VentouxMan featured seven events on September 19 and 20, 2026. Starts and finishes were held at Lac de Monteux, apart from the new 10K road race, which started in central Monteux, and the Gravel Triathlon, which finished in Pernes-les-Fontaines.

Highlights included a bike course winding through the Vaucluse’s iconic vineyards, between picture-postcard villages and breathtaking scenery, with the Long Distance courses culminating in the climb of Mont Ventoux from Bédoin.

Pierre Gouault and Eva Restler win the VentouxMan L-distance triathlon

The weekend’s headline event, the L-distance triathlon, had former professional cyclist Pierre Gouault as its clear favourite, and he delivered. The Beaune Triathlon athlete made the difference on the bike to win the 2026 VentouxMan in 4:49:29. He finished just over eight minutes ahead of Hugo Belloir. Cédric Leclercq completed the podium.

In the women’s race, German athlete Eva Restler led from start to finish to win the 2026 VentouxMan L in 5:42:14. She finished ahead of two British athletes, Lucy Barnes and Sally Harding. While the men’s race saw French athletes dominate, eight international athletes made the women’s top 10 at the VentouxMan L.

A total of 336 triathletes finished the course within the time limit.

Gonzalo Fuentes and Marjolaine Burin win the L-distance duathlon

In the VentouxMan L-distance duathlon, former Spanish triathlete Gonzalo Fuentes won in 4:45:03, more than 13 minutes clear of French challenger Gaël Dureuil, after an entertaining battle on the climb of Mont Ventoux. Frenchman Auryan Guyon-Riera took third.

Marjolaine Burin wins the L-distance duathlon

In the women’s race, Marjolaine Burin dominated the run after posting the second-fastest women’s bike split. She crossed the line in 5:45:39, well clear of Chloé Magnani and Marion Sicot.

Three more events on Saturday

Three other races were held the day before the Long Distance events.

In the 10K road race, held late in the day on a fast course starting in Monteux, young CSBJ runner Elven Coindard won in 31:53. Gabin Yonnet (32:03) and Guillaume Bonhert (32:12) completed a strong podium.

World junior triathlon champion Ambre Grasset won the women’s race in 36:08, more than four minutes ahead of Anouk Rigaud, who was second. Both athletes were using the race as a tune-up for the World Championships being held this week in Pontevedra (Spain).

In the Gravel Triathlon, former professional cyclist and 2024 VentouxMan L winner Anthony Roux won in 2:16:29, ahead of Florentin Body and Romain Lavernhe.

Emma Richeux won the women’s race in 2:48:10, nearly 30 minutes ahead of runner-up Julie Sylvestre. Annette Werle completed the podium.

Finally, in the VentouxMan S-distance triathlon, which attracted more than 400 participants, 20-year-old Léo Vanberten of Triathlon Club d’Hazebrouck (59) dominated the Sprint-format race in 1:02:54. He finished ahead of Vincent Buiatti and Swiss athlete Benoît Marin.

Lily Canelle won the women’s race in 1:09:50, finishing more than five minutes ahead of runner-up Laura Berruer.
