Between the sea, the mountains and the Promenade des Anglais, the Nice IRONMAN is one of Europe’s most iconic long-distance triathlon events. Every year, athletes from around the world come together to take on the ultimate challenge: 3.8 km of swimming, 180 km of cycling and 42.195 km of running—a marathon.

It all begins in the waters of the Mediterranean, in front of the Baie des Anges, with an early-morning start and crystal-clear water that make this swim one of the most beautiful on the circuit. The bike course then leaves the coast to climb into the hills behind Nice. Winding roads, demanding elevation gain and spectacular scenery: here, the race must be earned as much as it should be admired. Finally comes the marathon, run along the seafront, where every stride is carried by the crowds lining the famous Promenade des Anglais.

It is this combination of postcard-perfect scenery and a demanding course that has made the event so renowned. The spectators’ cheers, the festive atmosphere at the finish line and the pride of becoming an IRONMAN make it a memory that lasts a lifetime.
