Bike Gear: CADEX, GIANT and LIV Unveil Their Summer New Releases
Taiwanese manufacturer GIANT announced several new products over the summer. CADEX, its premium component brand, introduced its first Aero cockpit, a model set to catch the eye of triathletes. GIANT and LIV, the group’s women’s brand, also launched new road cycling shoes.
CADEX Aero integrated cockpit
The new CADEX Aero integrated cockpit combines a one-piece carbon construction, a forward-oriented geometry and low-drag tops. Weighing just 255 g in the 400 × 110 mm version, 70 g less than the previous generation, it puts the rider in a narrower, more efficient and naturally controlled position. The result should be a worthwhile speed gain.
This new cockpit was designed to turn effort into speed with greater efficiency, precision and comfort. Its new geometry combines flattened tops with a slight V shape, creating a 6.5° front sweep, the forward curve of the handlebar. The cockpit reduces frontal area while naturally positioning the hands and wrists. It encourages a low, aggressive and aerodynamic position.
Made without a single bonded joint, its one-piece T800/T1100 carbon construction eliminates the joins and excess material associated with traditional assembly methods.
The result: Greater stiffness, direct power transfer and a 70 g weight saving over the previous model, without sacrificing control when the road tilts upward or the pace picks up.
The handlebar is molded as a single piece. This continuous architecture limits the flex that dissipates energy and delivers the immediate response expected during an acceleration, attack or sprint. CADEX’s high-precision reinforced carbon layup places high-strength fibers only where they are needed, resulting in a light, stiff and durable structure.
KEY FEATURES
• Forward-oriented ergonomics, for a narrower, more aerodynamic position.
• Redesigned aerodynamic tops: Their low-drag profile cuts efficiently through the airflow while retaining a reassuring grip.
• One-piece construction: The T800/T1100 carbon handlebar is molded as a single piece, with no bonded joints, to reduce weight, material and flex.
• Reduced weight: 70 g lighter than the previous generation; 255 g in the 400 × 110 mm version.
• Race geometry: The reduced spacing between the brake hoods naturally places the hands in a performance-oriented position.
• Adjustable computer mount: Supplied with the cockpit, it integrates beneath the handlebar and offers an adjustment range from 2.5° to 17.5°.

New LIV and GIANT road cycling shoes
GIANT Surge Pro
The 3D arch support combines the sole structure, EvoWrap wraparound construction and adjustable EPS insoles. Two BOA® Li2 dials provide independent micro-adjustment zones, while a wider platform and roomier toe box stabilize the foot and reduce pressure points.
GIANT broadens access to performance with a platform designed to fit a wide range of foot shapes: the Surge Pro is available in standard D and wide W widths in selected sizes. It prioritizes stiffness, low weight and immediate power transfer, with a three-bolt cleat mount and SRM Power Direct compatibility.
FEATURES:
Sole: Wet Layup carbon
Cleat mount: 3-bolt + SRM Power Direct
Weight: 265 g in size 43
