French teams named for the 2026 World Triathlon Championship Series final and world championships in Pontevedra

Pontevedra, in Galicia in northwestern Spain, will host the World Triathlon Championship Series Grand Final, along with the Junior, U23, paratriathlon and age-group world championships, from September 23 to 27.

France will field a deep and ambitious delegation for the final act of the Olympic-distance season.

In mid-August, French Triathlon Federation technical director Stéphane Lechat announced the French team for the event, with two WTCS rounds still to come in Weihai and Karlovy Vary).

The selection criteria for Elite athletes seeking a place at the WTCS Grand Final were:

- Finish in the top six at the 2025 WTCS Final in Wollongong, Australia.

- Finish in the top eight at a 2026 WTCS Series race over the standard distance.

- Finish in the top three at a 2026 WTCS Series race over the sprint or super-sprint distance.

- Selection at the discretion of the selector, after consultation with the selection committee and in the best interests of the French team, in accordance with the general selection rules.

The following athletes will line up at the WTCS Grand Final:

Cassandre BEAUGRAND - Winner of the 2026 WTCS races in Alghero, Italy; Quiberon, France; London, Great Britain; and Weihai, China.
Emma LOMBARDI - Fourth at the 2026 WTCS race in Quiberon, France, and fifth in Hamburg, Germany.
Léonie PERIAULT - Winner of the 2026 WTCS race in Hamburg, Germany, and fifth in London, Great Britain.

Men:

Dorian CONINX - Winner of the 2026 WTCS races in Quiberon, France, and Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic.
Tom RICHARD - Sixth at the 2026 WTCS races in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, and Alghero, Italy.
Yanis SEGUIN - Eighth at the 2026 WTCS race in Alghero, Italy, and ninth in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic.
Jules RETHORET - Discretionary selection by the technical director; ninth at the WTCS race in London, Great Britain.
Tom LERNO - Discretionary selection by the technical director; runner-up at the 2026 World Cup race in Tiszaujvaros, Hungary.

Anouk RIGAUD - 19 - 2026 Junior European silver medallist in Elblag, Poland, and winner of the 2026 Junior European Cup race in Caorle, Italy.

Léni REMER–MANCINI - 19 - Winner of the 2026 European Cup races in Zagreb, Croatia, and Caorle, Italy; ninth at the 2026 Junior European Championships in Elblag, Poland.

The paratriathlon team

The French paratriathlon team will comprise 14 athletes, including two guides.

The 2025 world champions in Wollongong, Australia, qualify under the access criterion: Elise MARC, Camille SENECLAUZE, Jules RIBSTEIN and Alexis HANQUINQUANT.
Cédric DENUZIERE, who finished second in the WTPS race in Yokohama, Japan, also met an access criterion.
Antoine PEREL (guided by Yohan LE BERRE) met an eligibility criterion in 2025 as world silver medallists, then repeated that result at the 2026 European Championships, where they finished fourth.

Zoé RÉVEILLON (European silver medallist in 2026 behind Camille SENECLAUZE) and Antoine LAMARCHE-POULAIN (runner-up in the WTPS race in Montreal, Canada) met an eligibility criterion in 2026.
Louis NOËL met an eligibility criterion in 2025 by finishing third at the World Championships, and showed the level required for selection at the 2026 Yokohama race in Japan.
Pierre-Antoine BAELE met an eligibility criterion in 2025 as world silver medallist, then repeated that performance at the 2026 European Championships, where he finished third, and at the 2026 WTPS race in Montreal, where he was third in Canada. France requested an invitation for Pierre-Antoine, who is the third French PTS4 athlete in the selection and therefore outside the quota.
Joseph FRITSCH, third at the 2026 European Championships, has been selected at the discretion of the technical director.
Thibaut RIGAUDEAU (2024 Paralympic silver medallist) has also been selected at the discretion of the technical director. The start of his partnership with guide Cenzino LEBOT was taken into account in the decision.
