IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 Vichy 2026 results

Long-distance triathlon took center stage in Vichy this Sunday, with IRONMAN Vichy and IRONMAN 70.3 Vichy held on the same day. Nearly 3,300 age-group athletes from 74 nations gathered in the “queen of spa towns” to take on one of the two challenges, in a festive, truly international atmosphere.

Vichy’s packed triathlon weekend kicked off on Friday evening with the Night Run by IRONMAN, a fun 5K open to everyone, before continuing on Saturday with IRONKIDS, giving the youngest athletes a taste of the IRONMAN experience. The IRONMAN Village, set up in the vast multi-sport park beside the Allier, welcomed athletes, families, and supporters all weekend long.

The weekend’s main event, of course, came on Sunday, August 23, with two IRONMAN races held in the heart of Vichy and reserved for age-group triathletes (no pros on the start list).

At 7:00 a.m., more than 900 triathletes set off in the IRONMAN Vichy, starting with a 3.8 km swim in the Allier, before heading out onto the scenic roads of Auvergne for 180 km on the bike. They then wrapped up their day with a four-lap marathon course in the heart of Vichy, along the Allier riverbanks and past the city’s iconic spots and packed café terraces, quick to cheer athletes through the final effort.

In the men’s race, after winning IRONMAN Tours Loire - Métropole Valley, France’s Alexandre Caille took the win, helped in no small part by the fastest marathon of the day in 2:46:12. He was followed by Amandin Colvray (France) in second, with Belgium’s Niels Vandenbroele rounding out the podium.

In the women’s race, Germany’s Amelie Ingenbleek claimed victory ahead of France’s Anais Robin in second and Léa Vieljeuf in third.

French sweep in the IRONMAN 70.3 race

A few hours later, at 9:40 a.m., nearly 2,000 triathletes dove into the Allier for the start of the 11th edition of IRONMAN 70.3 Vichy. After a 1.9 km swim, athletes tackled 90 km of biking through Auvergne’s rolling landscapes before finishing with a 21.1 km run through the streets of Vichy.

In the men’s race, a French trio lit up the day: Antoine Viertaix took the win ahead of César Neveu and Alexis Dupuy.

In the women’s race, the podium was more international, with Britain’s Lily de Lacy taking the win ahead of Bermudan Emily Taylor-Nagel (also a professional sailor who has competed in the Volvo Race, for example) and another Brit, Charlotte Brooks. Charlotte Juteau, the top French finisher, placed 4th.

With IRONMAN Vichy and IRONMAN 70.3 Vichy sharing the calendar on the same day and open exclusively to amateur triathletes, Vichy once again confirmed its status as a must-visit triathlon destination in France and beyond.

Athletes and their supporters can already mark their calendars for a return to Vichy on August 22, 2027 for the next edition of the event.
