A standout field lines up for the Yotta XP Menton on October 10
On October 10, Menton will host the YOTTA XP for the first time. The event challenges athletes to complete as many swim and run loops as possible within a time limit that shrinks with every lap. Triathlons.com takes a closer look at this innovative format, launched in Vichy in 2022 and arriving on the Côte d’Azur in 2025.
After its first Côte d’Azur edition in Cannes in 2025, YOTTA XP is heading to Menton this year for its second event on the French Riviera, backed by the Alpes-Maritimes department. Plage des Sablettes will be the starting point for a day built around pushing personal limits, with the Mediterranean as the athletes’ playground.
Known for its colourful façades, authentic atmosphere and famous Lemon Festival, Menton offers a distinctive backdrop for YOTTA XP. Just a few kilometres from the Italian border, the city is also expected to attract plenty of competitors from across the frontier, adding to the international feel of the event.
A new challenge with every lap
Created in Vichy in 2022 by Sacha Rosenthal, CEO of Xefi and an accomplished IRONMAN triathlete, YOTTA XP offers a unique format in the world of multisport: repeating swim and run loops within a time limit that gets shorter and shorter.
On every lap, athletes must cross the finish line before a set time to be allowed out onto the next loop. The time limit is reduced after each lap according to a predetermined cut-off. It is a format that turns every loop into a fresh challenge and every finish into a victory.
In Menton, participants can choose from several formats depending on their level and ambitions: YOTTA XP S, S Relay, M and M Relay, bringing experienced athletes and newcomers together for the same unique experience.
Format | Swim | Run | Maximum loops |
Yotta XP M | 400 m | 4 km | 5 |
Yotta XP M Relay | 400 m | 4 km | 5 |
Yotta XP S | 200 m | 2 km | 5 |
Yotta XP S Relay | 200 m | 2 km | 5 |
Yotta Run | 1 + 2 km | 5 |
More than €33,000 in prize money for the top athletes
The YOTTA XP M will feature a high-level field, including the following men:
Nathan Lessman, third in the Allier this summer, will be looking for revenge in a race that will also see Yanis Seguin, 15th at the most recent Pontevedra World Championships, join the battle. The triathletes will also have to fend off Marc-Antoine Olivier, the Olympic bronze medallist in the 10 km open-water event in Rio, Élie Combat, the 2026 French aquathlon champion, Arnaud de Lustrac and Jérôme Gueguen, the 2025 swimrun world champions, as well as swimmers from the prestigious Cercle des Nageurs d’Antibes.
On the women’s side, Ilona Hadhoum, the 2026 U23 world champion, will be on the start line alongside Jeanne Lehair, a winner on the WTCS circuit, Margot Garabédian, winner of Yotta XP Vichy 2026, and Justine Guérard, runner-up in Vichy. The Slovakian Ivana Kuriackova, a member of the YOTTA team, Salomé Astier, the 2026 French aquathlon champion, and Dutch athlete Barbara de Koning will also be there, as will Manon Genet, a multiple Ironman 70.3 winner and the 2021 long-distance world championship runner-up, returning to the start line.
The top YOTTA XP M athletes will compete for a €33,200 prize purse, reserved for the top 10 men and top 10 women.
