Supertri Pro Series finale in Jersey: Cassandre Beaugrand and Matt Hauser on top

The 2026 Supertri Pro Series finale on the Channel Island of Jersey delivered on Sunday. On a format as short as it was brutal, three back-to-back rounds of 300 m swim, 4 km bike and 1.6 km run, France’s Cassandre Beaugrand and Australia’s Matt Hauser used their top-end speed to take the win and the $100,000 prize money reserved for each champion.

This season, the SuperTri Pro format featured three races for elite triathletes: a first stop in May in Austin (United States), a second in June at Blenheim (Great Britain), and a third in Toronto (Canada) in July. The top three men and top three women from each round qualified for the Jersey final (Great Britain), with a roll-down at each stop.

The Supertri format itself was unchanged, with three ultra-fast, no-rest mini triathlons back to back, each made up of a 300 m swim, 4 km bike and 1.6 km run.

Beaugrand untouchable on the run

In the women’s race, France’s Cassandre Beaugrand once again showed that on a format this explosive, her run speed is the difference-maker. She hit the front from the very first swim, then gradually built her advantage across the three rounds.

Her main challengers, Britain’s Georgia Taylor-Brown, Luxembourg’s Jeanne Lehair and fellow Brit Jessica Fullagar, kept the suspense alive for a long time. Taylor-Brown and Fullagar in particular tried to put Beaugrand under pressure on the bike in round two. But the Paris 2024 Olympic champion always managed to stay in touch.

In the end, it all came down to the final 1.6 km run. Beaugrand hit the gas straight out of T2 and nobody could live with her pace. She won in 56:44, 19 seconds ahead of Georgia Taylor-Brown and 27 seconds clear of Jeanne Lehair.

The win caps an exceptional season for the Frenchwoman, who also went four-for-four in the World Triathlon Championship Series events she raced.

Hauser makes the difference on the final run

In the men’s race, the script was just as dramatic. Australia’s Matt Hauser had to deal with a stacked field, led by New Zealand’s Olympic silver medallist Hayden Wilde, and Britain’s Olympic champion Alex Yee, whose reunion was highly anticipated after more than a year without going head-to-head.

The Yee-Wilde duel didn’t last long. The Paris Olympic champion suffered a broken chain during the second bike leg, while the lead group was still tightly packed.

Hauser stayed at the sharp end throughout all three rounds, but the outcome remained uncertain as he had to fend off Hayden Wilde, Hungary’s Csongor Lehmann, the Netherlands’ Mitch Kolkman and America’s Seth Rider.

As in the women’s race, it was decided on the run. Hauser took advantage of a messy transition from Wilde to hit the front, then gradually opened the gap. Despite a late push from the Kiwi, the Australian held on to win by seven seconds.

Mitch Kolkman rounded out the podium 11 seconds back, ahead of Csongor Lehmann and Seth Rider in the minor placings.

For Matt Hauser, the victory carries extra weight: just a week after his crash at the WTCS Weihai in China, the 2025 world champion is back on top at the perfect time.
